Tour Program:
Day One – To Bwindi NP:
Meet and greet at your accommodation at 0600hrs. An early morning start from Kampala takes you southwest and across the Equator. You drive through savannah grasslands seeing banana plantations and herds of Ankole cattle with their incredibly long curving horns. You then ascend into the Kigezi highlands, known as the "Switzerland of Africa", with terraced farming and mountain scenery. Drive through to Bwindi. {10 hr drive}
Up Market Accommodation: Buhoma Lodge or similar (Full Board – B,L,D)
Midrange Accommodation: Silverback Lodge or similar (Full Board – B,L,D)
Budget Accommodation: Buhoma Community Rest Camp or similar (Bed & Breakfast)
Day Two – In Bwindi NP:
After an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide, enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure. The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular. The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but criss-crossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savored. Many find it to be a rare and moving opportunity.

Day Three – Return to Kampala:
This morning, end your stay in the "Land of the Mountain Gorillas" & depart with great memories of the moments spent with the fascinating Mountain Gorillas. Transfer back to Kampala with lunch en-route.

Notes on Gorilla Tracking:
Please note that gorilla tracking is a strenuous activity and one should be physically fit to enjoy this tour. Minimum tracking age is 15 years. Anyone with signs of communicable diseases will NOT be allowed to track.
While possession of a gorilla permit is a guarantee of trekking and sighting the gorillas, the quality of the gorilla trekking cannot be guaranteed. Maximum time allowed with the gorillas will NOT exceed ONE hour.
We strongly recommend the following: Rain poncho (lightweight), long-sleeved shirt, waterproof trousers, sturdy hiking boots, leather gardening -type gloves, sunscreen, insect repellent and any necessary medications must be brought by yourselves either from your home town or from Kampala. Still Cameras and Camcorders are allowed, but bring batteries and film from Kampala.
Kindly understand that gorilla permits / chimp walks are booked on a "first come first served" CASH basis and therefore can be snapped up by anybody. Please do make a decision as soon as you can in order to avoid disappointment!
